People are so much dependent on scientists who can easily deceive them.

Such people swallow every thing the scientists say without making sure of phenomena for themselves.
They are like people deceived by the religious leaders in Yeshua's days, and JWs so much dependent on the WTS.

They are just followers of men in authority, or experts.

Greek mathematician in 3rd century Eratosthenes is said to calculate the length of earth's circumference from the angle of a shadow in Alexandria where 800km away from a well of Syene.

When the sun came right above the well, the angle of a shadow in Alexandria where 800km away was 7.2 degree.

So it is said that Eratosthenes made a calculation to get the length of earth's circumference, based on the supposition that the earth was globe.

This is the formula of the length of earth's circumference.
800km x 360/7.2 = 40,000km

I'm wondering how Eratosthenes was able to know the angle of the shadow at the same time where 800km away from his place despite there was no fully simultaneous communication method like telephone at that time.

The story sounds like a hoax made up for the globe earth theory by the Freemason in later years.

The altitude of the sun

We can calculate the altitude of the sun rotating above the earth by utilizing the same figures Eratosthenes's story of calculating the length of earth's circumference.

This is the formula of sun's altitude.
800km x tan 82.8 = 6333km

The sun is located around 6,000km (3,750mil) above the ground.

The earth doesn't have curvature.

Bridge, tunnel, railway, etc are constructed without taking the supposed curvature of earth into consideration.

According to the bogus science of Freemason, any object is to be 24 feet below the horizon per 6 miles away.
The statue of liberty 326 feet above sea level can be seen from 60 miles away.

But, according to the formula of curvature of earth, it should be 2,400 feet below the horizon, so it shouldn't be seen from 60 miles away.

How does an object going away disappear from the view?

People parrot what they were taught by their elementary school teachers as follows.

Curvature is more apparent if you're in a good place to notice it; sailing away from land and watching the lower (closer) parts disappear first - beach, low hills then higher hills. It's also noticeable when the sun sets for you standing at sea level, but is still clearly shinning strongly on the high mountains off to the east. This shows that lower lying areas loose the sun sooner than higher places; evidence of the curved earth, but not explainable with a flat earth.

The statement above is wrong.

The fact is the ship going away isn't sinking down below the horizon, but is vanishing off on the horizon.

About the refraction of light

The light is a electromagnetic wave, so it acts like electromagnetic wave.

Radar uses electromagnetic wave to find objects far away.

It emits electromagnetic wave and receives the bouncing back wave from the object to detect it.

The very basic radar technology is that the electromagnetic wave bends down due to the atmospheric pressure and temperature, etc as the distance becomes greater.

So the radar shoots electromagnetic wave upward for the effect of the refraction.
This is a characteristic of the electromagnetic wave including the visible light.

Therefore, the visible range of an object far away becomes narrow.
The downward refraction of light puts down an object far away below the horizon.
So the object will be seen as if the bottom part of it is cut by the horizon.

The earth in the Radar Manual is depicted as if the earth is globe, so that people are deceived to imagine the electromagnetic wave travels along the curvature of the earth.

But the traveling characteristic of electromagnetic wave has nothing to do with the shape of the earth.

There is no curvature of earth, it is due to the refraction of light that an object far away is seen as if the bottom part is cut by the horizon.
