JW's way of Handling child sexual abuse

unreasonable application of the "two witness" rule by the WTS

The WTS adheres to the "two witnesses" rule with unreasonable strictness, to the point of sacrificing children's human rights.

Child sexual abuse is that children are raped by familiar relatives and acquaintances.

That sneaky criminal act can not have witnesses in nature. It will be the only world of perpetrators and victims. And the victim is an unprotected and helpless child.

It is impossible for the child to fight back against this despicable criminal acts on its own.
Who should care about the enormous negative impact on the mind and body of an abused child?

Of course, it is parents and close adults.

Child sexual abuse occurs in the Jehovah's Witness community too just as it does in the general population.

In such an abominable crime, how can parents and close adults help victimized children?

Everyone should seriously think about this problem.

Watchtower Jehovah's Witnesses creates the dangerous situation that produces further victims by covering up the crime and letting the perpetrator free because of their erroneous application of "two witnesses rule."

They are unreasonably sticking to the word of "two witnesses" in the following scriptures.

De 19:15
15 "No single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or any sin, in the case of any sin that he may commit. At the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses the matter should stand good.

Mt 18:16
16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, in order that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter may be established.

Two witnesses are necessary for every matter to be established.

This requirement is a reflection of wisdom.
I believe that we should obey this requirement, but the question is how to execute God's requirement.

If there is no witness for committed crime, should we abandon the investigation of the crime?

Or, does it mean that we should conduct thorough investigation (or hearing) and ones involved the hearing become witnesses of the matter and in such a way the truth is to be established by at least two witnesses.

I believe the God's requirement of "two witnesses" means the latter.

The WTS abandons the investigation of the crime and do nothing, in case there is no direct two witnesses.
It is abandoning of justice, mercy, and faithfulness due to mechanical adherence of the letter of the law.

By their unreasonable application of the scriptures, the WTS leaves victims alone without help, and protection from perpetrator. And the victims are forced to live with dead heart for years. On the other hand, the perpetrators are not subjected to any punishment so that they continue to commit crime and create further victims.

These rotten fruits produced proves that WTS' perfunctory interpretation of the scriptures is pretty evil.

Handling of hidden crimes committed between individuals

I will review the handling of serious crimes committed among individuals.

First, let's see from the context how the "two witnesses" rule in Deuteronomy 19:15 should be carried out.

De 19:15-21
15 "No single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or any sin, in the case of any sin that he may commit. At the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses the matter should stand good. 16 In case a witness scheming violence should rise up against a man to bring a charge of revolt against him, 17 the two men who have the dispute must also stand before YHWH, before the priests and the judges who will be acting in those days. 18 And the judges must search thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and has brought a false charge against his brother, 19 YOU must also do to him just as he had schemed to do to his brother, and you must clear away what is bad from your midst. 20 So those who remain will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything bad like this in your midst. 21 And your eye should not feel sorry: soul will be for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

It explains the case where "false witness appears.
Because it is a false witness, it means that there is no witness in reality.
In other words, it is a case without two witnesses. The matter is just between two men without any witnesses.

In such cases, abandoning the problem is not acceptable.
The priests and the judges are required to thoroughly investigate whether the witnesses are falsifying.
The parties concerned of the crime are required to be tried in front of God with or without a witness.

Then, if a child who has been sexually abused complain about an adult who molested her or him, the abused child is suing the perpetrator as a witness, even though there is no other witnesses.
The both of those involved in the accusation should stand before God, and the priests and judges are responsible for the thorough investigation of the accusation.
By the thorough investigation judges should confirm who is guilty or not and then judgment should be given.

The false leaders of the WTS Jehovah's witnesses do not fully understand God's intentions of justice.

the establishment of the matter by "two or three witnesses" in Matthew 18:16

Next, let's look at the context of the Matthew 18:16.

Mt 18:15-17
15 "Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go lay bare his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, in order that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. 17 If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.

Jesus talks about the problem between individuals here.
Because it is a crime between individuals, it is quite private matter that others won't know.
In other words, there are no actual "two witnesses" other than parties concerned.

What the victim can do for the first time is to reveal the sin of the perpetrator in private.
If the perpetrator doesn't admit his or her sin, the victim can involve others to establish the truth.
The victim can take along with one or two others to meet the perpetrator.

These peoples who went along will become the witnesses of the private controversy between two.
They are witnesses of the both side.
And they can help the both side to settle the matter.

If the perpetrator doesn't listen to, the victim can appeal the case to the judicial system in the congregation taking along with one or two witnesses who became acquainted with their dispute.

Then, the congregation will be responsible for determining the truth by thorough investigation of the case including the testimony of the two witnesses.

It won't be tolerated that leaving the situation as it is without doing anything and as the result creating more victims.

In Deuteronomy, it is written that if an appeal is made, "Judges must thoroughly investigate. The "two or three witnesses" stated by Jesus are not necessarily the direct witnesses of the wrongdoing, they are people who go along with the victim to meet the perpetrator and become the witnesses of the both parties and their conflict.

On judging sexual crimes

Essentially there is no witness in the crimes such as rape.
Much less if it is a child.

Can no one judge without direct two witnesses in case of the crime committed by pedophiles and rapists?

Is it that the essence of the two witnesses for establishing of the truth?


De 22:23-27
23 "In case there happened to be a virgin girl engaged to a man, and a man actually found her in the city and lay down with her, 24 YOU must also bring them both out to the gate of that city and pelt them with stones, and they must die, the girl for the reason that she did not scream in the city, and the man for the reason that he humiliated the wife of his fellowman. So you must clear away what is evil from your midst.

25 "If, however, it is in the field that the man found the girl who was engaged, and the man grabbed hold of her and lay down with her, the man who lay down with her must also die by himself, 26 and to the girl you must do nothing. The girl has no sin deserving of death, because just as when a man rises up against his fellowman and indeed murders him, even a soul, so it is with this case. 27 For it was in the field that he found her. The girl who was engaged screamed, but there was no one to rescue her.

In the case of rape like the second case, there are no witnesses, but the legal action is taken with the testimony of the victim and circumstantial evidences.

Trauma suffered by the victim and physical damage can be regarded as a strong circumstantial evidence.

We shouldn't avoid the serious responsibility for conducting thorough investigation and finalizing the truth and taking necessary measures for both parties.

Leading adults have a grave responsibility for removing the wrongdoing in front of God.

Also secular authority is said to be a God's minister who judges the evildoers.

Ro 13:1-4
1 Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. 2 Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves. 3 For those ruling are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you, then, want to have no fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; 4 for it is God's minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear: for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword; for it is God's minister, an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad.

So there would be no reason for us to hesitate to seek judgment to the secular authority, when a crime was committed.
It is said that "those ruling are an object of fear, . . . to the bad" and is also said to be "God's minister, an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad".

So when we notice an appeal of sexual abuse from children, we should inform the police immediately.
In that way we should give priority to protecting children from crime.

Jehovah's Witnesses' Inappropriate handling of Pedophiles

The leaders of the WTS Jehovah's Witnesses are too childish and unrealistic in their understanding of God's requirements.

They insist "We can do nothing unless two witnesses are obtained."

They also advised not to notify the police about the child sexual abuse.
And their stupid advise produces many more victims.

Victims 'told not to report' Jehovah's Witness child abuse

Louise Palmer was told by the elders (leaders of the JW congregation) that reporting JW's rapist to the police was to "bring reproach on Jehovah," and they told "don't do that."

Jehovah's Witnesses let sex offender interrogate victims

Why is it that the conscience of employed elders in JW can't work properly?

It is because they believe that they are okay as long as they follow the manual of the WTS.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Watchtower society is the only agent of God and they are brainwashed by the manual of the WTS, so that they can't reason without that manual.

Their conscience who are dependence on the WTS can not function properly.
Because if they deny the WTS, their place will be lost.

From the elders to the publishers, Jehovah's Witnesses are all slaves of the phony-baloney ("inchiki" in Japanese) of the WTS.
