last days parousia prophecy

X f W T in
30 And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity. Mt 24:30-31

Regarding the "Last Days," or the "Lord's Day" the Greek word "Parousia" used in only Matthew's account.

What is the Parousia?

The Watchtower Society uses Parousia (Jesus's presence during the last days) to teach the coming of Jesus at the beginning and end of the period of the Last Days. First, invisible coming is at the beginning of the last days, and then his invisible presence continues during the last days, finally he will come visibly at the time of Armageddon in the end of the last days.

They taught that the last days began in 1914 and that one generation until Armageddon was the time to gather a class to live in paradise on Earth, and has gained nearly 8 million followers worldwide.

Although that teaching contributed to the worldwide expansion of the Watchtower Society, it is not Bible teaching.

The idea of Christ's invisible presence prior to his 2nd coming to judge the world can not be found in the Bible.

It is the misinterpretation of the Greek word "Parousia", or Parousia is probably a questionable addition.

Only the Book of Matthew, written in Aramaic and later translated into Greek by Zorba, uses the word "Parousia." On the other hand, the Greek word parousia does not appear in the accounts of Mark and Luke, which were written in Greek from the beginning.

This raises doubts about the addition of this unusual word to the Book of Matthew.

The Greek word "Parousia," probably wasn't the word that Jesus' Apostles actually used, since they likely spoke the common language of the Jews at the time, Aramaic, not Greek (for more information, see the Wikipedia link, 'Aramaic New Testament').

Mt 24:3
3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence (Parousias) and of the conclusion of the system of things?"

Mr 13:4
4 "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?"

Lu 21:7
7 Then they questioned him, saying: "Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?"

The accounts of Mark and Luke show that the disciples are inquiring about when and the signs of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, which Jesus mentioned.

Jesus's disciples didn't have the idea of Jesus's 2nd coming in the remote future. They expected that Jesus would begin ruling soon.

Even after the resurrection of Jesus, they still had not comprehended the 2nd coming of Christ with kingly power from heaven as shown in Act 1:6.

Ac 1:6
6 When, now, they had assembled, they went asking him: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?"

The disciples' mind was on the imminent taking over the rulership of the nation of Israel, not Jesus' 2nd coming in the remote future. This 2nd coming of Jesus with heavenly armies was still unimaginable to them at that time.

As you can see, the question about the remote future Parousia just doesn't fit into the circumstances; so it is likely a suspicious addition!

  1. Why would they have asked about Jesus being PRESENT before he would ARRIVE (as some teach that they asked)? Since Jesus had never mentioned such a concept, where would they have gotten that idea?
  2. It would have been an unusual thing for Jesus' Apostles to ask him about a second coming, since all the Gospel accounts indicate that they didn't expect him to leave at all, but to 'restore the Kingdom to IsraEl' (see Acts 1:6).

Parousia is better translated as advent, arrival, or coming rather than as presence.

Jesus's 2nd coming in remote future

Responding to his disciples' present interest, Jesus provided the prophecy of his 2nd coming to judge Satan's entire world. And he also included impending judgment of apostate Jerusalem in his prophecy of 2nd coming.

The answer to the imminent interest of Jesus's disciples, which is the prophecy of the destruction of the Jerusalem is inserted in the verses 15-22 of Matthew, the verses 14-18 of Mark, and the verses 5-24 of Luke.

The inserted prophecy about the destruction of the Jerusalem in the imminent future is highlighted in pale red color.

Mt 24:1-51
1 Departing now, Jesus was on his way from the temple, but his disciples approached to show him the buildings of the temple. 2 In response he said to them: "Do YOU not behold all these things? Truly I say to YOU, By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down."

3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?"

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: "Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

7 "For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9 "Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
15 "Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,) 16 then let those in Ju·de′a begin fleeing to the mountains. 17 Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house; 18 and let the man in the field not return to the house to pick up his outer garment. 19 Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days! 20 Keep praying that YOUR flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day;
21 for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

23 "Then if anyone says to YOU, 'Look! Here is the Christ,' or, 'There!' do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25 Look! I have forewarned YOU. 26 Therefore, if people say to YOU, 'Look! He is in the wilderness,' do not go out; 'Look! He is in the inner chambers,' do not believe it. 27 For just as the lightning comes out of eastern parts and shines over to western parts, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 28 Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

32 "Now learn from the fig tree as an illustration this point: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and it puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near. 33 Likewise also YOU, when YOU see all these things, know that he is near at the doors.

34 Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

36 "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the coming (arrival, advent ) of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the coming (arrival, advent ) of the Son of man will be.

40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken along and the other be abandoned; 41 two women will be grinding at the hand mill: one will be taken along and the other be abandoned.

42 Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.

43 "But know one thing, that if the householder had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.

44 On this account YOU too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that YOU do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming.

45 "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?

46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.

48 "But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying,' 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards,

50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.

Mr 13:1-37
1 As he was going out of the temple one of his disciples said to him: "Teacher, see! what sort of stones and what sort of buildings!" 2 However, Jesus said to him: "Do you behold these great buildings? By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down."

3 And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives with the temple in view, Peter and James and John and Andrew began to ask him privately: 4 "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?"

5 So Jesus started to say to them: "Look out that nobody misleads YOU. 6 Many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'I am he,' and will mislead many. 7 Moreover, when YOU hear of wars and reports of wars, do not be terrified; [these things] must take place, but the end is not yet.

8 For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, there will be earthquakes in one place after another, there will be food shortages. These are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9 "As for YOU, look out for yourselves; people will deliver YOU up to local courts, and YOU will be beaten in synagogues and be put on the stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them. 10 Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first. 11 But when they are leading YOU along to deliver YOU up, do not be anxious beforehand about what to speak; but whatever is given YOU in that hour, speak this, for YOU are not the ones speaking, but the holy spirit is.

12 Furthermore, brother will deliver brother over to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death; 13 and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

14 "However, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing where it ought not (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Ju·de′a begin fleeing to the mountains. 15 Let the man on the housetop not come down, nor go inside to take anything out of his house; 16 and let the man in the field not return to the things behind to pick up his outer garment. 17 Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days! 18 Keep praying that it may not occur in wintertime;
19 for those days will be [days of] a tribulation such as has not occurred from [the] beginning of the creation which God created until that time, and will not occur again. 20 In fact, unless YHWH had cut short the days, no flesh would be saved. But on account of the chosen ones whom he has chosen he has cut short the days.

21 "Then, too, if anyone says to YOU, 'See! Here is the Christ,' 'See! There he is,' do not believe [it]. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. 23 YOU, then, watch out; I have told YOU all things beforehand.

24 "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling out of heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then he will send forth the angels and will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from earth's extremity to heaven's extremity.

28 "Now from the fig tree learn the illustration: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and puts forth its leaves, YOU know that summer is near. 29 Likewise also YOU, when YOU see these things happening, know that he is near, at the doors. 30 Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

32 "Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father. 33 Keep looking, keep awake, for YOU do not know when the appointed time is.

34 It is like a man traveling abroad that left his house and gave the authority to his slaves, to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to keep on the watch.

35 Therefore keep on the watch, for YOU do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether late in the day or at midnight or at cockcrowing or early in the morning; 36 in order that when he arrives suddenly, he does not find YOU sleeping. 37 But what I say to YOU I say to all, Keep on the watch."

Lu 21:5-36
5 Later, as certain ones were speaking concerning the temple, how it was adorned with fine stones and dedicated things, 6 he (Jesus) said: "As for these things that YOU are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone upon a stone will be left here and not be thrown down."

7 Then they questioned him, saying: "Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?"

8 He said: "Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'I am he,' and, 'The due time has approached.' Do not go after them. 9 Furthermore, when YOU hear of wars and disorders, do not be terrified. For these things must occur first, but the end does not [occur] immediately."

10 Then he went on to say to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.

12 "But before all these things people will lay their hands upon YOU and persecute YOU, delivering YOU up to the synagogues and prisons, YOU being haled before kings and governors for the sake of my name. 13 It will turn out to YOU for a witness. 14 Therefore settle it in YOUR hearts not to rehearse beforehand how to make YOUR defense, 15 for I will give YOU a mouth and wisdom, which all YOUR opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute.

16 Moreover, YOU will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of YOU to death; 17 and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name. 18 And yet not a hair of YOUR heads will by any means perish. 19 By endurance on YOUR part YOU will acquire YOUR souls.

20 "Furthermore, when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. 21 Then let those in Ju·de′a begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; 22 because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled. 23 Woe to the pregnant women and the ones suckling a baby in those days! For there will be great necessity upon the land and wrath on this people; 24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled.
25 "Also, there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and [its] agitation, 26 while men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 But as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift YOUR heads up, because YOUR deliverance is getting near."

29 With that he spoke an illustration to them: "Note the fig tree and all the other trees: 30 When they are already in the bud, by observing it YOU know for yourselves that now the summer is near. 31 In this way YOU also, when YOU see these things occurring, know that the kingdom of God is near.

32 Truly I say to YOU, This generation will by no means pass away until all things occur. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

34 "But pay attention to yourselves that YOUR hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon YOU 35 as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. 36 Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that YOU may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man."

Messiah's 1st coming

When Adam and Eve shortly after being created fell into sin tricked by Satan, God promised a seed to rescue them. The promised seed will deliver Adam's family from sin and death, and Satan's rule. So, God secured the lineage from Adam to Messiah (Christ) to produce the promised seed who saves Adam's family.

When Eve gave birth to her first son, Cain, she said that with God's help she had given birth to a man who would become a lineage linking to the promised seed. But around 100 years later, Cain killed his brother Abel, and became disqualified to be a lineage to produce God's promised seed. Then God gave Adam and Eve another seed when Adam was 130 years old, and Eve named him Seth.

In this way, the lineage of the promised seed was secured.

Ge 3:15
15 And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your (serpent) seed and her seed. He (promised seed) will bruise you (serpent) in the head and you will bruise him in the heel."

Ge 4:1
1 Now Adam had intercourse with Eve his wife and she became pregnant. In time she gave birth to Cain and said: "I have produced a man with the aid of YHWH."

Ge 4:25
25 And Adam proceeded to have intercourse again with his wife and so she gave birth to a son and called his name Seth, because, as she said: "God has appointed another seed in place of Abel, because Cain killed him."

Ge 5:3
3 And Adam lived on for a hundred and thirty (130) years. Then he became father to a son in his likeness, in his image, and called his name Seth.

Over 2,000 years later from Adam's sin, the promise of the seed who liberates Adam's family was repeated to Abraham. The promised seed through whom all the people of the nations bless themselves is to come from Abraham's family line. Abraham's descendants has become known as Israelites.

430 years later from the covenant with Abraham, God established the Law Covenant with Israelites to produce the kingdom of priest ruled by the promised seed.

The king of the kingdom is called Messiah in Hebrew, Christ in Greek. Messiah means "anointed" or "anointed one."

God's Messiah, the promised seed, came in the first century as prophesied in the Bible. But apostate Israelites rejected Jesus, not accepting him as God's Messiah.

Therefore, they still await their imaginary Messiah's arrival. But, since God Messiah's 1st coming was done already, the Messiah they are waiting for is a false one.

God's Messiah's 1st coming

29 CE
Jesus Nazarene was baptized by John the Baptist in Jordan River in September, 29 CE. Then he began Messiah's kingdom preaching work to choose the sons of the kingdom out of the apostate nation of Israel.

He taught about teaching and blessing of Messiah's kingdom rule and cured every sort of infirmity and expelled demons, for 3 and 1/2 years. Then finally, he accomplished a sinless death on the execution stake on Nisan 14, 33 CE.

His sinless death finalized Satan's execution and guaranteed salvation of Adam's family from sin and death, and Satan's domination. This salvation was prophesied by the YHWH when Adam and Eve fell into Satan's trap.

The serpent would bruise the heel of the promised seed, and with it the serpent's head would also be bruised. The Messiah will conquer Satan by his sinless death, as shown in the Genesis account.

Ge 3:15
15 And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He (Messiah) will bruise you in the head and you (serpent) will bruise him in the heel."

Jesus accomplished everything foretold for God's Messiah on his 1st coming, and was resurrected and elevated above all angels by YHWH.

The 1st coming of the Messiah in September, 29 CE can be confirmed by Roman secular history. According to Luke, John began his ministry in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar. (Lu 3:1-6)

Augustus died on August 17, 14 CE, and Tiberius was named emperor by the Roman Senate on September 15; thus his 15th year would run from the latter part of 28 CE to August or September of 29 CE.

Jesus got baptized in September, 29 CE to start the work of Messiah. This was the 1st advent of God's Messiah. He worked for 3 and 1/2 years until his sacrificial death on Nisan 14, 33 CE, then was resurrected as a spirit being, to go back to heaven.

The celestial record on Nisan 14 of 33 CE confirms Biblical record of the events leading to Jesus's death on Nisan 14, 33 CE.

Only the astronomical record of 33 CE matches the Biblical account, so we can tell Jesus died in 33 CE.

From that confirmed date Nisan 14, 33 CE, we can tell that God's Messiah's 1st coming was on September, 29 CE. There is no other choice.
cf. Nisan 14 in 33 CE

Daniel's prophecy of Messiah's coming also indicates Messiah's 1st coming was 29 CE. And it has been determined that the 1st advent of Messiah would be the time of the desolation of Jerusalem. So Messiah's 1st coming ends the Jewish religious system, and it is the time of the judgment of apostate nation of Israel.

Da 9:24-27
24 "There are seventy (70) weeks that have been determined upon your people and upon your holy city, in order to terminate the transgression, and to finish off sin, and to make atonement for error, and to bring in righteousness for times indefinite, and to imprint a seal upon vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. 25 And you should know and have the insight [that] from the going forth of [the] word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah [the] Leader, there will be seven (7) weeks, also sixty-two (62) weeks. She will return and be actually rebuilt, with a public square and moat, but in the straits of the times.

26 "And after the sixty-two (62) weeks Messiah will be cut off, with nothing for himself.
"And the city and the holy place the people of a leader that is coming will bring to their ruin. And the end of it will be by the flood. And until [the] end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations.

27 "And he must keep [the] covenant in force for the many for one (1) week; and at the half (1/2) of the week he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. "And upon the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, the very thing decided upon will go pouring out also upon the one lying desolate."

"The going forth of the word" to rebuild Jerusalem was authorized by Persian king Artaxerxes to Nehemiah in 455 BCE. From that year, we can count prophetic 70 weeks to determine Messiah's 1st coming. It is said that "from the going forth of the word" to rebuild Jerusalem until "Messiah the Leader" would be 7 + 62 weeks, that is 69 weeks (483 years).

483 years after 455 BCE we reach 29 AD.
483 - 455 + 1 = 29 (Since year 0 doesn't exist, 1 should be added to the subtraction.)

Thus, centuries in advance Daniel's prophecy pinpointed the exact year of the Messiah's arrival. Perhaps the Jews in the first century C.E. had made calculations on the basis of Daniel's prophecy and were therefore on the alert for Messiah's appearance. The Bible reports: "Now as the people were in expectation and all were reasoning in their hearts about John: 'May he perhaps be the Christ?'" (Lu 3:15) Although they were expecting the Messiah, they evidently could not pinpoint the exact month, week, or day of his arrival. They wondered whether John was the Christ. John began his ministry in the spring of 29 C.E., about six months before Jesus presented himself for baptism in September of 29 CE.

The 1st coming of Messiah took place 4,000 years after Adam's creation.
cf. Calculations based on biblical genealogies.

By Messiah's 1st advent, the nation of Israel was inspected and judged as deficient, and discarded.

Lu 19:41-44
41 And when he got nearby, he viewed the city and wept over it, 42 saying: "If you, even you, had discerned in this day the things having to do with peace-but now they have been hid from your eyes. 43 Because the days will come upon you when your enemies will build around you a fortification with pointed stakes and will encircle you and distress you from every side, 44 and they will dash you and your children within you to the ground, and they will not leave a stone upon a stone in you, because you did not discern the time of your being inspected."

Mt 23:36-38
36 Truly I say to YOU, All these things will come upon this generation. 37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent forth to her,-how often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks together under her wings! But YOU people did not want it. 38 Look! YOUR house is abandoned to YOU.

Jerusalem, which rejected and killed God's Messiah, was destroyed by the Roman army in 70 AD, and the apostate Israelites lost their nation and were scattered throughout the world.

Messiah Jesus went back to heaven conquering Satan by his sinless death and left kingdom preaching work to his followers, the sons of the kingdom. Since then, the sons of the kingdom left on earth have been waiting for Jesus's 2nd coming in the future.

When the Jesus returns, it will be the time to end Satan's world and bring blessings to Adam's family.

Mt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in my name, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."

Ac 1:6-11
6 When, now, they had assembled, they went asking him: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" 7 He said to them: "It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction; 8 but YOU will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Jude′a and Samar′ia and to the most distant part of the earth." 9 And after he had said these things, while they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision. 10 And as they were gazing into the sky while he was on his way, also, look! two men in white garments stood alongside them, 11 and they said: "Men of Gal′ilee, why do YOU stand looking into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from YOU into the sky will come thus in the same manner as YOU have beheld him going into the sky."

Heb 9:28
28 so also the Christ was offered once for all time to bear the sins of many; and the second time that he appears it will be apart from sin and to those earnestly looking for him for [their] salvation.

Mr 1:9-15
9 In the course of those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. 10 And immediately on coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being parted, and, like a dove, the spirit coming down upon him; 11 and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you." 12 And immediately the spirit impelled him to go into the wilderness. 13 So he continued in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan, and he was with the wild beasts, but the angels were ministering to him. 14 Now after John was put under arrest Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the good news of God 15 and saying: "The appointed time has been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Be repentant, YOU people, and have faith in the good news."

Lu 7:19-23
19 So John summoned a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to say: "Are you the Coming One or are we to expect a different one?" 20 When they came up to him the men said: "John the Baptist dispatched us to you to say, 'Are you the Coming One or are we to expect another?'" 21 In that hour he cured many of sicknesses and grievous diseases and wicked spirits, and granted many blind persons the favor of seeing. 22 Hence in answer he said to the [two]: "Go YOUR way, report to John what YOU saw and heard: the blind are receiving sight, the lame are walking, the lepers are being cleansed and the deaf are hearing, the dead are being raised up, the poor are being told the good news. 23 And happy is he who has not stumbled over me."

Joh 10:1-5
1 "Most truly I say to YOU, He that does not enter into the sheepfold through the door but climbs up some other place, that one is a thief and a plunderer. 2 But he that enters through the door is shepherd of the sheep. 3 The doorkeeper opens to this one, and the sheep listen to his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has got all his own out, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. 5 A stranger they will by no means follow but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers." (Jesus's preaching work was for the sons of the kingdom. He led them out of apostate Judaism. The sons of the kingdom share the Messianic Kingdom with Jesus.)

Joh 19:28-30
28 After this, when Jesus knew that by now all things had been accomplished, in order that the scripture might be accomplished he said: "I am thirsty." 29 A vessel was sitting there full of sour wine. Therefore they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a hyssop [stalk] and brought it to his mouth. 30 When, now, he had received the sour wine, Jesus said: "It has been accomplished!" and, bowing his head, he delivered up [his] spirit. (Jesus died around at 15:00 pm)

Ac 17:30-31
30 True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. 31 Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has furnished a guarantee to all men in that he has resurrected him from the dead."

Heb 1:3-4
3 . . . after he had made a purification for our sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places. 4 So he has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs.

Jesus promised his followers his 2nd coming. His 2nd coming will end the Satan's world, and the sons of the kingdom will be taken into heaven to join Christ's 1000-year reign.

Joh 14:1-3
1 "Do not let YOUR hearts be troubled. Exercise faith in God, exercise faith also in me. 2 In the house of my Father there are many abodes. Otherwise, I would have told YOU, because I am going my way to prepare a place for YOU. 3 Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for YOU, I am coming again and will receive YOU home to myself, that where I am YOU also may be. (The hope given to those who follow Jesus, the sons of the Kingdom, is not earthly life, which Adam and Eve lost, but heavenly life. Therefore, every Christian should understand and be aware of the hope to which he or she is called..)

About Me

I became a Christian being baptized in 1972. Since then, I was a Jehovah's Witnesses for about 40 years.

When I was an elder, I was removed from the eldership of the congregation because I took a position that differed from the policy of the Watchtower Society.

Many years of life as a Jehovah's Witnesses I have experienced a discord between the style of worship of the Watch Tower Society and the teachings of Christ. So, using the Internet I began investigating the Watchtower Society from its beginning.
