Two trees in garden of Eden
There were two trees in the middle of the garden of Eden, one was the knowledge of good and bad, the other was the tree of life.It tells us that life is something to do with knowledge of good and bad.
And YHWH God allowed Adam and Eve to physically access to the very two trees.
Adam and Eve's action to the trees was regulated only by God's words.
God told Adam that as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.
But as for the tree of life, God did not say anything yet.
Since these two trees were together in the middle of the garden, Adam must have thought that he had to receive instructions from God about the tree of life as well.
So Adam's action toward these certain trees was regulated only by the word of God.
What does it teach us?
It shows that man should and is able to live by the word of God.
In this way God placed His full trust in the man that was created according to His own image, because God knew man is able to obey His word out of love or free will.
God didn't program man to obey His Will like computer or machine.
Rather God has given his children the ability to program themselves.
So Adam and Eve were capable to learn and to develop their own liking or taste.
Like YHWH, their Father, they will become what they want to be.
We are created according to God's image, who declared "I will be what I want to be."
It is natural for them to respect God, the source of their existence itself for the love they received from Him.
Impact of Decision
We develop our own unique personalities through our own unique experiences and learning within our own genes and environment. Our individuality is the result of our own decisions and choices.
And whether it is good or bad, our decisions will lead to the next generation.
We can program ourselves.
This implies that God has total confidence in us as His children.
God is confident that we will program ourselves in harmony with the truth and His will.
For this reason, God is going to give us the knowledge of good and bad for the everlasting life.
And He encourages us to be like Him who are only good God. There is no bad in Him.
To be like God means to be in harmony with God.
Adam and Eve who had been just created started programing themselves. They can be in harmony with God only by obeying what God said to them. It was natural for them to obey God. They were supposed to become like God the Father and live in harmony with Him forever.
Satan's Lies about God's Ways
Satan made Adam and Eve stumble with lies. Satan impressed upon Eve that God was hiding something good from her, implying that God was somehow unfair. What Satan has hinted at is an outright lie.God must have had the right time and the right way to allow Adam and Eve to eat from the forbidden tree. Adam and Eve didn't know yet when or how God would allow them to take the fruit.
There would be a right time and a right way to do that.
The right time is after learning how to chose the good.
Isa 7:16
16 For before the boy will know how to reject the bad and choose the good,
Ro 12:9
9 Let [YOUR] love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is wicked, cling to what is good.
It is unlikely that the fruit of the knowledge of good and bad would be forbidden forever in the middle of the garden. This idea wouldn't be reconciled with the tree of life located next to it.
Satan deceived Eve, taking advantage of what God hadn't revealed them yet about these two trees located in the middle of the garden.
Satan's machination has not changed since then.
He is deceiving many Christians with what God has not yet revealed in the Bible.
There are lots of speculations of Bible prophecy, and God himself.
It is easy for Satan to fool us in the time of the fulfillment of prophecies, and in the things that are not written in the Bible.
For this reason, the following instruction is the must.
1Co 4:6
"Do not go beyond the things that are written,"
2Jon 9
9 Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. He that does remain in this teaching is the one that has both the Father and the Son.
Jon 8:31-32
"If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples, 32 and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free."
Life works out the right way, at the right time.
Adam's failure is that he did not wait for God.We are governed by time and space, so there is an appropriate time and place for every event.
Obedience to God means waiting for God's time and going along with God's ways.
If we are doing what is good revealed to us, we will reap the result in due season.
Ge 6:7-9
7 Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; 8 because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh, but he who is sowing with a view to the spirit will reap everlasting life from the spirit. 9 So let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due season we shall reap if we do not tire out.
Ecc 3:1, 3, 14
1 For everything there is an appointed time, even a time for every affair under the heavens:
3 a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build;
14 I have come to know that everything that the [true] God makes, it will prove to be to time indefinite. To it there is nothing to add and from it there is nothing to subtract; but the [true] God himself has made it, that people may be afraid on account of him.
Satan, demons, and Adam and Eve have all failed to obey God.
They did not respect God's ways and timing.
They all show a tendency of being impatient as well as going beyond God's words for only their own calamity. They unfortunately betrayed God's trust by means of their own self-centered reasoning and assumptions.
Jesus on the other hand, shows an ideal obedience to God.
He appreciatively responded to God's trust.
He respects God's ways and due season.
He stayed in God's love out of his own chose.
Joh 15:10
10 . . . I have observed the commandments of the Father and remain in his love.
Mt 4:4
4 . . . 'Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through YHWH's mouth.'"
So he was elevated to the point of being granted to use God's holy spirit and being worshiped by all like his loving Father.
He was given the honor by God.
Joh 3:34-35
34 For the one whom God sent forth speaks the sayings of God, for he does not give the spirit by measure. 35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.
He 1:3-4, 6
3 . . . and after he had made a purification for our sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places. 4 So he has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs.
6 But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: “And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him.”
Re 5:11-14
11 And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice: "The Lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing." 13 And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: "To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever." 14 And the four living creatures went saying: "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.
It is the proof of our Father's generosity.
Ps 84:11
11 For YHWH God is a sun and a shield;
Favor and glory are what he gives.
YHWH himself will not hold back anything good from those walking in faultlessness.
Our heavenly father YHWH God is not illiberal as Satan tried to impress.
In contrast, Satan took honor by force so to speak, accusing and lying about God.
But is it really the honor for him to grab honor?
Pr 25:16, 27
16 Is it honey that you have found? Eat what is sufficient for you, that you may not take too much of it and have to vomit it up.
27 The eating of too much honey is not good; and for people to search out their own glory, is it glory?
Satan's speculation is an unattainable idea that is lie.
He is the father of lie.
Joh 8:44
44 . . . he (Satan) did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie].
Shame on you, Satan!
