You may remember the news of the super Typhoon Haiyan when it struck Phillippines on November 8, 2013.
wiki/Typhoon Haiyan Philippines
It was really super Typhoon.
“By the evening of November 7, PSWS No. 4, the highest level of warning which indicates winds in excess of 185 km/h (115 mph) are expected, was raised for Eastern Samar, [and] Leyte”
“In the provinces of Samar and Leyte, classes were canceled, and residents in flood and landslide prone areas were required to evacuate.”
Three congregations of the JWs were located in the very areas.
(Samar being the island where Guiuan congregation is located, while Tacloban congregation and Tanauan congregation are both on the island of Leyte).
Unfortunately, 33 JWs were dead.
Especially, 22 JWs lost their life in Tacloban congregation.
What did bring such a result?
What was responsible for the tragedy?
The branch office of Phillippin and the headquarter of the WTS knew the Public Storm Warning.
The government issued a mandatory evacuation.
Did they obey the warning?
Did they instructed JWs who live in the dangerous region to evacuate immediately?
No they didn't.
These three congregations held the Christian meeting on that very day when Haiyan hit the region.
Did they expected God's protection?
Can such a faith be justified?
Mt 4:5-7
5 Then the Devil took him along into the holy city, and he stationed him upon the battlement of the temple 6 and said to him: "If you are a son of God, hurl yourself down; for it is written, 'He will give his angels a charge concerning you, and they will carry you on their hands, that you may at no time strike your foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus said to him: "Again it is written, 'You must not put YHWH your God to the test.'"
JWs are well known world wide in preaching the warning message of upcoming God's judgment.
Then, they often use the illustration of the evacuation from natural disasters and the importance of listening to, and obeying the warning.
Why is it that they failed to apply what they preach?
Ro 2:21
21 do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself?
I'm wondering if there were JWs who evacuated from the dengeous area listening to the public warning?
Would it be difficult for JWs who are indoctrinated to seek direction from elders, the branch office and the governing body for everything to act according to own judgment or own faith?
Lu 12:57
57 Why do YOU not judge also for yourselves what is righteous?
I'm wondering if there were brothers or sisters who lost their life because of attending the meeting for ignoring wise counsel from their unbelieving relatives?
How do they reason the different result that the one congregation was protected while another was not?
What is the difference?
Is it for location, building structure, or by chance?
Can they boast for God's protection?
Is really God involved in this incident?
Judge for yourself.

About Me
I became a Christian being baptized in 1972. Since then, I was a Jehovah's Witnesses for about 40 years.
When I was an elder, I was removed from the eldership of the congregation because I took a position that differed from the policy of the Watchtower Society.
Many years of life as a Jehovah's Witnesses I have experienced a discord between the style of worship of the Watch Tower Society and the teachings of Christ. So, using the Internet I began investigating the Watchtower Society from its beginning.
