For a worldwide perspective of what this may have looked like. Jetting water rose above the atmosphere, where it froze and then fell on various regions of the earth as huge masses of extremely cold, muddy “hail.” That hail buried, suffocated, and froze many animals, including some mammoths.

Where did the water come from?

Ge 7:11
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all the springs of the vast watery deep were broken open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

What is the all the springs of the vast watery deep?
The following scriptures answer.

2Pe 3:5
5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God;

Ge 1:9
9 And God went on to say: "Let the waters under the heavens be brought together into one place and let the dry land appear."

Ps 136:6
6 To the One laying out the earth above the waters:
For his loving-kindness is to time indefinite;

Ps 24:2
2 For upon the seas he himself has solidly fixed it,
And upon the rivers he keeps it firmly established.

So the above scriptures show that the ground is on the water below, or subterranean water. The floor of the subterranean chamber was about 10 miles (16km) below the earth’s surface.

Rupture Phase
Failure began with a microscopic crack at the earth’s surface. Because stresses in such cracks are concentrated at each end of the crack, each end grew rapidly—at about 3 miles per second. Within seconds, this crack penetrated down to the subterranean chamber and then followed the path of least resistance. The rupture probably completed its path around the earth in about 2 hours.

As the crack raced around the earth, the 10-mile-thick crust opened like a rip in a tightly stretched cloth. Pressure in the subterranean chamber directly beneath the rupture suddenly dropped to nearly atmospheric pressure. This caused supercritical water to explode with great violence out of the 10-mile-deep “slit” that wrapped around the earth like the seam of a baseball.

For the salvation of all oppressed living things

YHWH is never wicked as some imagine.
God destroys wicked, but never does so other than that.
The judgment in the days of Noah shows that all were wicked except eight people who were rescued from the wicked world. If there was no deliverance, these eight would have been victimized by the violence.

Ge 6:11
11 And the earth came to be ruined in the sight of the [true] God and the earth became filled with violence. 12 So God saw the earth and, look! it was ruined, because all flesh had ruined its way on the earth.

Our generation is also getting similar to the days of Noah filled with violence. Who would deliver the victims with justice and mercy? How could those accusing God present the practical solution for the mass victims? How are they going to rescue the victims of violence?

They ridicule us saying that God is late, God is incapable, or indifferent, he doesn't exist and so on.

These unprofitable sayings that the accusers of God speak will be required to be accounted for as written at Mt 12:36.

Mt 12:36
36 I tell YOU that every unprofitable saying that men speak, they will render an account concerning it on Judgment Day;

God who is just knows how to rescue righteous ones. There is due time and right way for deliverance. By the act of God, righteous ones who are meek will be delivered from all wickedness.

Ge 18:32
32 Finally he said: "May YHWH, please, not grow hot with anger, but let me speak just this once: Suppose ten are found there." In turn he said: "I shall not bring it to ruin on account of the ten."

2Pe 2:9-10
9 YHWH knows how to deliver people of godly devotion out of trial, but to reserve unrighteous people for the day of judgment to be cut off, 10 especially, however, those who go on after flesh with the desire to defile [it] and who look down on lordship.

Pr 21:18
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous one; and the one dealing treacherously takes the place of the upright ones.

It is impossible for righteous ones cohabit securely with wicked ones. Ravenous wolves will eat up sheep. Righteous ones need to be delivered from wicked ones before too late. They are the endangered species because of the wicked ones.

God knows how to deliver them. And even for the victims of violence, a deliverance has been prepared by means of resurrection. All meek ones will be rescued even from the death. All harms that man may experience will be undone and be compensated more than adequately for any harm. God's dealings with us and provisions will bring about the best solution for our miseries, which no human can achieve.

Absolutely, there is no reason to doubt about God's justice, righteousness, mercy, generosity, wisdom, and power to fulfill His loving Will to rescue us.

Those who are ruining the earth who do not know God, and reject believing God are responsible for human miseries. Men can't change their heart for the better from the inborn tendency of inclining to bad. They can not deliver themselves from this miserable state.

Imperfect humans who are prone to be self-centered are unable to achieve lasting good without God help. Science technology can't remove greed, selfishness from their own heart. Rather, it promotes such wickedness, exploiting others in extensive degree. A scale and speed of the destruction have been enhanced drastically by the development of the technology.

The humans ruin the ground and hasten own extinction. God will be forced into an intervention for rescue of the human again.

Re 11:18
18 But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth."

The claim that "God is inferior to man in fairness and justice" is an unfounded falsehood, the logic of the Father of Lies.

There is no validity to rely on the limited reasoning of human, who can't deliver himself from the bondage of sins and death. The human wisdom is still developing and it is not comparable to the One perfect in knowledge and wisdom.

The humans under the Satan's deception and control are hurting themselves by self-inflicted injustice and violence, and they don't have wisdom, capability, and will to solve their own problems. Their steps of ignoring God is to injure themselves, then foolishly curse God.

Pr 19:3
3 It is the foolishness of an earthling man that distorts his way, and so his heart becomes enraged against YHWH himself.

1Co 3:20
20 And again: "YHWH knows that the reasonings of the wise men are futile."

Ps 146:3
3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,
Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
