baptism sons of the kingdom

t f B! P L

Christian baptism is for the sons of the kingdom.

Those who accept Christ are supposed to be baptized in the name of Christ. And, Christian baptism is for entering into the New covenant for the forgiveness of sin.

They are sons of the kingdom.
They are also called the things in the heavens, the Israel of God, the seed of Abraham, the heirs of the kingdom, etc.

The Christian Greek scriptures was prepared for the sons of the kingdom. It reveals the heavenly calling and hope for the sons of the kingdom.

Jesus came to earth to establish the kingdom by choosing the sons of the kingdom. He invited people to become kingdom heir.

Christian baptism is the first step to enter into the New covenant for the sons of the kingdom. And the New covenant is for the forgiveness of the sins of the world.

It is the symbol of repentance, not dedication.
It is administrated in the name of Christ.
The sons of the kingdom are baptized into Christ, not to anyone else.
They are the followers of Christ, and follow wherever Christ goes, even in heavens.

So the Christian baptism will open the way to Christ and heavens.

All baptized Christians have to understand and appreciate these fundamental truth.

No supernatural experience is necessary to be born again of water and spirit.

No need for Christian to expect some supernatural experience to be baptized with spirit, as some might imagine.

Supernatural demonstration of the spirit in the first century was special operation for the establishment of the Christian congregation. Once it was established, no more such miraculous operation is necessary.

Subsequently the sons of the kingdom were entrusted to the completed Bible.
The miraculous gifts were temporal provision for the establishing the Christian congregation in the first century.

During that particular period, the inspired Christian Greek Scriptures was provided for the sons of the kingdom in later times.

So we don't need to have any supernatural experience to be bone in spirit, unlike it occurred in the first century.

Rather we can fully be convinced our hope through what is written in the inspired Word of God.

This faith and conviction is from God.
If you have this faith, you can rejoice in the hope you have.

Scriptural support

The invitation to be the sons of the Kingdom began with Christ's ministry in the first century.

Lu 16:16
16 "The Law and the Prophets were until John. From then on the kingdom of God is being declared as good news, and every sort of person is pressing forward toward it.

Joh 1:12-13
12 . . . as many as did receive him, to them he gave authority to become God's children, because they were exercising faith in his name; 13 and they were born, not from blood or from a fleshly will or from man's will, but from God.

Joh 4:23-24
23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers (the sons of the kingdom) will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth."

Joh 10:27
27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Mr 10:38-39
38 . . . Are YOU able to drink the cup which I am drinking, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am being baptized?" 39 They said to him: "We are able." At that Jesus said to them: "The cup I am drinking YOU will drink, and with the baptism with which I am being baptized YOU will be baptized.

The sons of the kingdom are to be baptized to Christ. Their baptism is administered in Christ's name.

Ac 2:38
38 Peter [said] to them: "Repent, and let each one of YOU be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of YOUR sins, and YOU will receive the free gift of the holy spirit.

Ro 6:3-7
3 Or do YOU not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father, we also should likewise walk in a newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall certainly also be [united with him in the likeness] of his resurrection; 6 because we know that our old personality was impaled with [him], that our sinful body might be made inactive, that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin. 7 For he who has died has been acquitted from [his] sin.

Baptized into Christ means entering into the New covenant by Christ's shed blood, just as the ancient Israel was entered into the Law covenant being baptized into Moses through the read sea.

So the Christian baptism is for the sons of the kingdom to enter into the New covenant for the forgiveness of sins.

cf. The New Covenant is not only for the sons of the kingdom, but also for the all mankind.

Christian Ministry of the sons of the kingdom

Christ's disciples were told to go around the world and make disciples of all the nations and baptize them in the name of Christ.

Mt 28:18-20
18 . . . "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in my name, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."

suspicious phrase "...baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

correct phrase is "in my (Christ) name."
there is very strong evidence that this is a 4th Century corruption of the original text; for in his earliest writings, the ancient Church 'bishop' EuSebius quoted this verse as saying something quite different. Eighteen times between the years 300 and 336-CE, he cited Matthew 28:19, 20 as saying, 'Go ye and make disciples of all the nations in my name, teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I commanded you.'

So the Christian ministry is first to gather the sons of the kingdom, the things in the heavens.

Eph 1:8-11
8 This he caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and good sense, 9 in that he made known to us the sacred secret of his will. It is according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself 10 for an administration at the full limit of the appointed times, namely, to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth. [Yes,] in him, 11 in union with whom we were also assigned as heirs,

The Bible does not talk much about the things on the earth.
To gather them will begin after the sons of the kingdom have been gathered into heave.
It will begin when the Christ comes back with great glory and powerful angelic armies.
So no need for Christian to worry about gathering the things on the earth.
Now is not the high time to gather such earthly things.

The Bible truth clearly tells these things.
So if you are baptized Christian, you should understand that God is looking for the sons of the kingdom now.

God will help you to realize what calling is extended to you.

Heavenly calling was not familiar, nor natural for Jesus disciples at first, but they were helped to realize to what they were called, in time.

The same thing would be true of you.

This is not emotional experience, nor miraculous display, but the faith that is mental recognition for what is invisible which is hope given to us through the promise of God.

Heb 11:1
1 Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.

Ro 4:16-22
16 On this account it was as a result of faith, that it might be according to undeserved kindness, in order for the promise to be sure to all his seed, not only to that which adheres to the Law, but also to that which adheres to the faith of Abraham. (He is the father of us all, 17 just as it is written: "I have appointed you a father of many nations.") This was in the sight of the One in whom he had faith, even of God, who makes the dead alive and calls the things that are not as though they were. 18 Although beyond hope, yet based on hope he had faith, that he might become the father of many nations in accord with what had been said: "So your seed will be." 19 And, although he did not grow weak in faith, he considered his own body, now already deadened, as he was about one hundred years old, also the deadness of the womb of Sarah. 20 But because of the promise of God he did not waver in a lack of faith, but became powerful by his faith, giving God glory 21 and being fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to do. 22 Hence "it was counted to him as righteousness."

Eph 1:13-19
13 But YOU also hoped in him after YOU heard the word of truth, the good news about YOUR salvation. By means of him also, after YOU believed, YOU were sealed with the promised holy spirit, 14 which is a token in advance of our inheritance, for the purpose of releasing by a ransom [God's] own possession, to his glorious praise.

15 That is why I also, since I have heard of the faith YOU have in the Lord Jesus and toward all the holy ones, 16 do not cease giving thanks for YOU. I continue mentioning YOU in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give YOU a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the accurate knowledge of him; 18 the eyes of YOUR heart having been enlightened, that YOU may know what is the hope to which he called YOU, what the glorious riches are which he holds as an inheritance for the holy ones, 19 and what the surpassing greatness of his power is toward us believers. It is according to the operation of the mightiness of his strength,

Php 3:12-16
12 Not that I have already received it or am already made perfect, but I am pursuing to see if I may also lay hold on that for which I have also been laid hold on by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it]; but there is one thing about it: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14 I am pursuing down toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God by means of Christ Jesus. 15 Let us, then, as many of us as are mature, be of this mental attitude; and if YOU are mentally inclined otherwise in any respect, God will reveal the above [attitude] to YOU. 16 At any rate, to what extent we have made progress, let us go on walking orderly in this same routine.

Col 3:1-4
If, however, YOU were raised up with the Christ, go on seeking the things above, where the Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Keep YOUR minds fixed on the things above, not on the things upon the earth. 3 For YOU died, and YOUR life has been hidden with the Christ in union with God. 4 When the Christ, our life, is made manifest, then YOU also will be made manifest with him in glory.

Do you understand these things in the Bible?

Heavenly calling is extended to every baptized Christian.
They can be the sons of the kingdom.

Do you believe these?

Mt 9:29
29 . . . "According to YOUR faith let it happen to YOU."

About Me

I became a Christian being baptized in 1972. Since then, I was a Jehovah's Witnesses for about 40 years.

When I was an elder, I was removed from the eldership of the congregation because I took a position that differed from the policy of the Watchtower Society.

Many years of life as a Jehovah's Witnesses I have experienced a discord between the style of worship of the Watch Tower Society and the teachings of Christ. So, using the Internet I began investigating the Watchtower Society from its beginning.
