I will explain how I perceive God. First of all, let me explain about Elohim (Hebrew) and Theos (Greek), which are translated as God in English. Those words are used in connection with the supreme creator of heaven and earth, spirit beings (good or bad), and persons in authority.
On respect and obedience to God
The word "Elohim," translated as God, is a symbol of authority and power, and is associated with obedience and respect shown by those who are under its authority.Respect and obedience are feelings and behaviors associated with higher authority and power.
Worship is an extension of respect and obedience.
The culmination of respect and obedience is worship, which is reserved only for the supreme creator.
Respect and obedience, other than worship, is relative to those who deserve it, other than the Supreme One.
Respect and obedience have their roots in a proper recognition and love for the worthiness of each of the children of God who are endowed with the attributes of the Supreme One.
For me, God is the Supreme One, the Creator of this heaven and earth.
He is known in the Bible by the name of YHWH in the Hebrew alphabet.
I think the pronunciation is close to Ehovah in Japanese. French scholars claim so, and modern Jewish Christians pronounce it Yehovah. In 1530, William Tyndall wrote IEHOUAH.
In this respect, Ehovah as used by the Japanese is considered to be closer to the ancient Hebrew pronunciation. ➡ The roots of Shinto in Japan lie in the belief style of the Ephraim and Gad tribes, among the ten tribes of Israel from Samaria.
You can find as much evidence of this fact as you want by searching the Internet. If you are interested, give it a try.
It is clear to me that there is a Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the knowledge about His purposes, the reasons for the existence of death, sorrow, suffering and injustice, the hope of the salvation, and God's compassion and love is a source of courage and hope to do what is right for me.
Therefore, the true God is the one who names himself in the Bible as YHWH, the Creator of heaven and earth, the Source of life, the Supreme Being.
about those who do not know God
Now, about nature worshippers, and atheists. There are those who are in awe of reason, the natural order, the immensity of things, overwhelming power, etc., and regard it as an object of respect and obedience. Those who worship nature perform acts of worship by bowing or putting hands together to those creations.
How the Supreme YHWH sees it is His own business, and has nothing to do with me. The Supreme One Himself, who sees the heart, will determine who is seeking Him and will show grace to such a person.
For my part, I am amazed and delighted by the beauty, wisdom, balance, and power of the works of the Supreme One, and I thank YHWH for creating them, worship Him, and follow His will.
Einstein is Jewish, but his thinking is limited to knowing the wisdom expressed in nature, and he doesn't seem to be interested in getting involved with the source of that wisdom, does he? Well, I think most of them are like that. There are also many atheists who are not interested in religion.
I have no opinion on that situation.
Because it has nothing to do with me.
As I have already written many times, YHWH does not judge people by the knowledge they have of Himself. Rather, he judges by His image, or attributes (especially love and compassion for one's neighbor).
Every person bears the image of God.
Therefore, the individual's inner man testifies whether his own words and actions are in harmony with love, mercy and justice, that is, in the image of YHWH, the Supreme One.
The Supreme One, YHWH will first save all compassionate people, regardless of whether they are ignorant, atheist, or religious. Being a part of that salvation, that is, seeing and experiencing God's saving work, is the first step for most people to know or learn about the Supreme YHWH who brought them salvation.
We are saved before we know God, not after we know Him.
In this respect, what the Watchtower's phony theocratic organization teaches is the opposite.
The false teaching of the Watchtower can be summarized as "accurate knowledge is necessary before salvation, and those who do not know God cannot be saved." Watchtower makes "salvation" like a college entrance exam. In addition, they arrogantly say that their organization is the only representative of God and that there is no salvation once you leave.
I can't follow them at all. Because of such unrealistic and narrow view, they would be considered a cult. Actually they are a cult.
