Size of the New Jerusalem

Re 21:16-17
16 And the city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs (About 2,220 km, 1,379 English mi); its length and breadth and height are equal. 17 Also, he measured its wall, one hundred and forty-four cubits (About 64 m, 210 ft), according to a man's measure, at the same time an angel's.

The size of the New Jerusalem doesn't fit the globe earth.

The size of the New Jerusalem will fit perfectly on the flat earth, as the earth is actually flat.



Think of the Earth's atmosphere.
100 km above the earth is called the Karman Line, the beginning of the ionosphere and the first layer of the firmament. Space shuttle flights take place at altitudes ranging from 100 to 400 kilometers. Humans have never gone beyond that. It is the boundary of heavens where God is and earth's atmosphere.

The inner belt of the Van Allen belts is a relatively small, proton-rich belt located at an altitude of 2,000 to 5,000 km above the earth. The outer band is a large band located between 10,000 and 20,000 km above the earth, and is dominated by electrons. These are considered to be the layers of heaven where God and spiritual beings dwell.

So 2200km high New Jerusalem reaches heavens where God is. New Jerusalem connects heavens and earth.

The sons of kingdom will take part in the restoration work of redeemed Adam's family here on earth by going back and forth from heaven and earth.

When will it happen?

When do you think the new Jerusalem will come down from heaven? Will it be at the beginning of the millennial reign, or after the end of the millennium as someone thinks?

The Role of the New Jerusalem

After Satan's world has gone, Christ's kingdom will start the restoration work that includes resurrection of billions of dead from the time of Adam, and judging, setting matter straight, and curing all.

Re 21:1-8
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more.

I view the former heaven and the former earth as the present Satan's system of things. So the new heaven and new earth is the Christ's thousand years reign.

It's in harmony with 2Pe 3:10-13 where the new heaven and the new earth is likened to the Christ's thousand years reign.

2Pe 3:10-13
10 Yet the Lord ’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered.

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought YOU to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, 12 awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Lord , through which [the] heavens being on fire will be dissolved and [the] elements being intensely hot will melt! 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.

The Revelation's account depicts that the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven brings the blessing to Adam's family who used to be enslaved to Satan's system.

Re 21:2-4
2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

There is no need for God to wipe out tear form eyes after the thousand years Christ's reign, since the salvation has completed by that time through the work of the New Jerusalem.

The earthly blessings are related to the New Jerusalem's coming down from the heaven. The New Jerusalem is to be the capital of Christ's kingdom during his thousand years reign when the cure of all redeemed mankind from the inherited sin is supposed to occur.

It is said that the sons of the kingdom have the citizenship of that city. They will serve there as a king and priest for thousand years.

Php 3:20
20 As for us, our citizenship exists in the heavens, from which place also we are eagerly waiting for a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Re 20:6
6 Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

And all creations are eagerly waiting for the curing operation of the New Jerusalem as Ro 8:19 shows.

Ro 8:19
19 For the eager expectation of the creation is waiting for the revealing of the sons of God.

The work expected of the New Jerusalem, the capital of the God's kingdom is to cure all mankind, so that it is very fitting that the New Jerusalem is coming down from heaven to earth at the beginning of the Christ's thousand years reign. That is what is expected of them, and it will be the beginning of the manifestation of the sons of God.

When the Christ's Kingdom takes over the rule, all people from Adam's days will be judged according to their deeds. Those who appreciatively respond to God's mercy will bless themselves, but those who belittle God's mercy due to their own disposition and desire will lose the chance to recover the favored relationship with God.

Re 21:5-8
5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” 6 And he said to me: “They have come to pass! I am the Al′pha and the O‧me′ga, the beginning and the end. To anyone thirsting I will give from the fountain of the water of life free. 7 Anyone conquering will inherit these things, and I shall be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and fornicators and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second death.”

It is also said that the nations and unqualified people are still existing during the time the New Jerusalem stays on the earth. This also indicates that the New Jerusalem is coming down at the beginning of the Christ's thousand years reign.

Re 21:10
10 So he carried me away in [the power of the] spirit to a great and lofty mountain, and he showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.

Re 22:27
22 And I did not see a temple in it, for YHWH God the Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb [is]. 23 And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God lighted it up, and its lamp was the Lamb. 24 And the nations will walk by means of its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 And its gates will not be closed at all by day, for night will not exist there. 26 And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But anything not sacred and anyone that carries on a disgusting thing and a lie will in no way enter into it; only those written in the Lamb’s scroll of life [will].

The curing operation of the New Jerusalem

The New Jerusalem will be the channel of blessing to all as Abrahamic covenant promised. All nations will bless themselves through the citizens of the New Jerusalem, the sons of the kingdom that is foreshadowed by Abraham's seed.

Ge 22:15-18
15 And YHWH’s angel proceeded to call to Abraham the second time out of the heavens 16 and to say: “‘By myself I do swear,’ is the utterance of YHWH, ‘that by reason of the fact that you have done this thing and you have not withheld your son, your only one, 17 I shall surely bless you and I shall surely multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens and like the grains of sand that are on the seashore; and your seed will take possession of the gate of his enemies. 18 And by means of your seed all nations of the earth will certainly bless themselves due to the fact that you have listened to my voice.’”

Re 22:1, 14-15
1 And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of its broad way. And on this side of the river and on that side [there were] trees of life producing twelve crops of fruit, yielding their fruits each month. And the leaves of the trees [were] for the curing of the nations. 14 Happy are those who wash their robes, that the authority [to go] to the trees of life may be theirs and that they may gain entrance into the city by its gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and those who practice spiritism and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone liking and carrying on a lie.’

It takes for 7,000 years that Adam's family are allowed to eat the the trees of life due to Adam's sin. If Adam were not stumble in sin, his family would be allowed to eat the tree of life without experiencing life calamities and death.

Sons of kingdom will work as Jesus did when he was on earth in the first century. Jesus' earthly ministry was a foreshadow of what his kingdom will do in the future in much bigger scale. Jesus taught how to live, cured every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity, and even resurrected dead when he was in Palestine in the first century. So the sons of the kingdom will do the same work in much bigger scale under the Christ thousand years reign.

Lu 7:22
22 Hence in answer he said to the [two]: “Go YOUR way, report to John what YOU saw and heard: the blind are receiving sight, the lame are walking, the lepers are being cleansed and the deaf are hearing, the dead are being raised up, the poor are being told the good news.

The sons of the kingdom will teach people how to live, cure many, and administer the resurrection of dead, and lots of works for the restoration of the original purpose of God. For that work the New Jerusalem is to come down from heaven and connect heaven and earth.

After the Christ's thousand years reign

The inherited death from Adam will have been done away with by the end of the Christ's thousand years reign. Then after that, Satan and demons must be let loose for a little while for the execution of them that is perpetrators in fron of all redeemed Adam's family that is victims. All seeds of Satan will be hurled into the lake of fire, which means the second death.

Re 20:1-3, 7-10
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

7 Now as soon as the thousand years have been ended, Satan will be let loose out of his prison, 8 and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Ma′gog, to gather them together for the war. The number of these is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp of the holy ones and the beloved city. But fire came down out of heaven and devoured them. 10 And the Devil who was misleading them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where both the wild beast and the false prophet [already were]; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Next, Christ returns authority back to YHWH. God will be all things to everyone. There will be no kingly and priestly authority anymore between God and everyone.

1Co 15:24-28
24 Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. 25 For he must rule as king until [God] has put all enemies under his feet. 26 As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing. 27 For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

Ro 8:21
21 that the creation itself also will be set free from enslavement to corruption and have the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Man's salvation will be successfully completed to the glory of YHWH, our Heavenly Father through the operation of the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven.
